I photograph a lot of nurses as a healthcare photographer. 2020 has shown all of us how essential nurses are. Nurses, techs, and CNA’s are the main faces that patients see in the hospital. They are not “just” a nurse, they are experts in care. They are on the front lines of healthcare.
National Nurse’s week ends today, and I wanted to take the time to recognize all of the nurses, techs, and CNA’s out there who are working hard to take care of everyone. It’s a hard job with long hours. It is definitely a calling, not just a job. They are here for us when we are born, and sadly when life ends. I appreciate all the nurses I know, whose who let me photograph them (even when their hair isn’t the best!), and those friends of mine who are nurses. If you know a nurse, consider sending them a card or a text, or giving them a call to let them know you appreciate them.
2020 was named the “Year of the Nurse and Midwife” by the World Heath Organization. Let’s recognize and celebrate the people who are the backbone of healthcare.
